Alexia Sloan has spent her lifetime studying the the human body. While working as professional ski instructor for 6 years she honed her skills in body movement analysis and balance integration. She studied Massage Therapy at The Oregon School of Massage and at Lane Community College and received her Oregon license in 1995. Alexia has spent the last 15 years incorporating many different massage and healing modalities into her own special technique. In 2002 she received a Bachelors degree in Communication, Education and Health from The Evergreen State College. While working at The Barefoot Sage she trained Massage Therapists in reflexology, foot massage, and essential oil treatments. She received her Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine with a focus on Tuina body work. After graduation Alexia continued her education in China, training under well-known herbalist Dr. Wu who treated gynecological issues and under Dr. Wong, an Acupuncturist specializing in weight loss. Alexia incorporates her vast experience in bodywork with Acupuncture for a unique healing experience.
