Offering massage and acupuncture treatments in a group setting using the community space at Kenton Family Wellness Center, acupuncturists and massage therapists can treat more people at a time, and can therefore lower the cost. Instead of being in a private treatment room and changing into a gown, patients get their treatment in comfortable reclining chairs together (fully clothed, of course!)

So what can we treat in a group acupuncture and massage setting? We can almost treat any condition that we could treat in a private setting. Occasionally this style of treatment is better suited to follow up treatments, especially if you have a chronic condition or complicated health history. In general acupuncture and massage are most effective when you can get treatments on a regular basis, and that consistency ends up being more important than what setting you get your treatments are in. Is it weird to not have any privacy? Most people getting treatment in a group setting say it is very comforting. You can come in with a friend or family member, and even though there are others in the room who you may not know, they are all there with the same goal that you have – to feel better and prevent illness. Many practitioners feel that the energy of the group actually increases the effectiveness of the treatments.
